I think this won't work quite out as index search is aware of pages that 
have a login restriction and thus doesn't show results from these pages. 
It'd be quite hard I guess to do that with Lucene.

Nevertheless Dmitry made an extension to use Lucene with TYPO3, ... 
somewhere in TER ...
