a week delayed, but finally I have managed to create a version of my

I went through the discussion and got some interesting ideas and
especially a hint to a problem I didn't think of: What about those
tables using a user-function instead of a database field for the label?
I think those could be implemented via a custom search-function. But
that would be the job of the extension author, I think.
