I think that you should simply ask Kasper or a CoreDEV or use the 
Bugtracker to submit patches and enhancements to this orphan extension...

I've recently asked also Ingo Renner about another orphan extension: 
Task Center. I'm awaiting an answer.

So much stuff...   :)
