[TYPO3-dev] Setting the value the title tag

Hi all,
 
How can I set the value between the title tags (<title>) in a extension
plugin? In a older installation of TYPO3 (3.8.1) I do this setting
$GLOBALS['TSFE']->page['title'] = 'My Custom Title'. Now I'm trying to
do the same thing running TYPO3 4.0.1 but this is just igonered and the
page title stays the title of the page record.
 
Is there a certain way to do this?
