Hello everyone,

sorry for joining this discussion too late again.

Reason for changing the white background back to a darker blue/grey 
color have been usability reasons after I got some feedback on the skin 
being too bright. I had to admit that the skin at that point was too 
bright to work with over a long period of time, especially in 
combination with a lot of our still tiny icons. After some evaluation I 
came to the conclusion that a lot of contrast mixed with tiny things 
stress the eye too much.

Generally we have to deal with the dilemma that we are discussing a 
design issue that's sometimes hard to argument on and obviously everyone 
has an opinion on - designer or not.
We will have to accept the fact we can't make it perfect for everyone.
But I'm pretty sure our final version will be way better then the old 
skin and hopefully lead to a broader discussion about user interface for 
the upcoming "usability version" 4.5 - which developing I already 
offered to accompany after the release of 4.0 final - and I would like 
to invite you all to contribute there.
We'll have a lot more possibilities then and if we organize it properly, 
we will also have a lot more time.

When you would really like to contribute ATM, please join the bugtracker 
and help finding and fixing bugs to the upcoming version I will publish 
the next days.
