It does, (and let's leave grandpa Marx aside;) when a large number of
people are making a somewhat informed and free choice on something.
For the same reasons I will always argue that Windows is a better
desktop OS than any Linux, and Apache is a better web server than IIS.

I would, too, when forge.novell grows to at least 1000-2000 projects.
While the chances of Novell tomorrow scrapping the whole thing are
non-zero (let's say someone evil buys them), the chances of
SourceForge shutting down are a lot lower since it's their primary
business.

I do agree that Novell is more technologically reputable, though.
