[TYPO3-dev] Write/read xml

Hi
I am working on extension which allow FE users to add information about new 
auctions.
I have lot of  fields  which  are shown or hiden dependent of user 
selection.
I thouthg that best way to store data from above fields is an xml.
Is there any FE extension which do similar? Write/read xml with correct data 
structure?
Which function do I have to check except array2xml?
