ok sorry.

there was the "retrieve/update" button that was "after" the search field (should appear "before", for usability)

i hadn't run it.

now i did and got a simple:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 25165824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 44 bytes) in /home/krur/httpd/typo3_src-4.0beta3/typo3/mod/tools/em/class.em_xmlhandler.php on line 139

strange, i have a dedicated server with 32Mb php allocated memory...
