It has never been fixed for 1.2.x of rteHTMLarea, so essentially it is 
broken for TYPO3 3.8 as 1.3.x requires TYPO3 4.0

I have no hope that Stanisals - if he can be reached at all! - to remeber 
what he has done around 2006-03-13, because he landed quite a number of 
changes at that time.
