O, yes Ric. I tried all the tips and tricks I could remember.

And indeed the message suggest a unix problem.

But why not for all extensions.

Or why not for an older version.

And why if I totally removed the previous occurrence of the extension 
from the HD?

I'm not a real unix-nerd but the message
Error: File "/var/www/demo/typo3conf/ext/beko_improved_login/"

says in my opinion that the little men om the server try to create a 
file without a name. Because only the path is displayed.

Oh, how stupid.

After typing the last sentence I thought (a little late, I know) "Lets 
look at the details of this extension on typo3.org".

And yes. There is the reason. A file, probably the manual, without a name.
