[Typo3-dev] Executing a function after a record has been changed in the BE

Hi,

for my "seminars" extension, I'd like to execute a function after a
record has been entered or changed in the BE.

Particularly, the number of vacancies should be re-calculated and stored
in the seminar record if an attendance record has been added, changed or
deleted in the BE. (The number of vacancies is cached for performance
reasons.)

How can I do that?
