[Typo3-dev] extending tt_content & retrive data

Hi,
I am developing an extension. And I needed some additional fields in the 
BE plugin insert form so I extended tt_content to get the desired 
fields. Now that I have the fields, how do I retrive the values.... get 
the extra field values from tt_content table agains the pid (Is it 
OK?).  Or is there some API?

What if the same plugin in intersed more than once in the same page. The 
pid for all the tt_content record here will be same. How do I relate a 
record to a particular instance of the plugin on the same page?

 Any comment will be very helpful.
