I needed some time to look at this.
The idea sounds very interesting although it's pretty unrealistic to use
this right now (PHP5 distribution is still pretty rare).

However, the result will have a bad effect:
Once more, people will have it easier to extend existing extensions without
needing to merge the changes with upstream.

I don't think that we should help them to do so.
