Well, the patch could have a config like this

dontRedirectURLS = 1 # no redirect at all
dontRedirectURLS = mailto # no redirect for mailto
dontRedirectURLS = mailto,http # no redirect for mailto,http

I've never tried, but can I link to an FTP-server or some other protocol?
