[Typo3-dev] Minimal Typo3 libraries inclusion

Hi list,

Does anybody have any experience with including only the most strictly necessary Typo3 libraries? I am thinking of things like including only the machinery for handling sessions and FE user logins.

Are there any examples of extensions that indeed only include a minimal version of the Typo3 framework?

I am asking because I am experimenting with AJAX, using the JPSpan library. I want to improve an Ajax application: it shouldn't require too much server resources (it's a chatbox).

As an aside: is my assumption correct that the Typo3 framework in its entirety is indeed a bit too resources-consuming for a chat app?
