I use rte_htmlarea for this purpose with the QuickTag htmlarea plugin (comes
with the extension).
You can insert abbr,acronym,address,span (with lang attribute) etc.
q and cite is missing though, Stanislas Rolland already promised to
integrate these in the future, meanwhile you can easiliy add them on your
own by editing "htmlarea/plugins/QuickTag/tag-lib.js".
