I think what Michael meant with quality is not those associated with an
jpeg file but more or less an overall quality of the images generated.
For example writing a TTF Text to an image can be accomplished in many
ways. if you use anitaliasing there are good and bad algorithms.
depending on which one you choose you will get a text rendered in a
different quality ... and this quality is hard to define ... as it must
be judged by somebody. speed can be measured by taking two timestamps
and making a diff, size can be measured by the filesizes but quality is
not such a measureable value ...
