No, but it could have been someone made you read a book with so many 
interesting ideas on search engines that you scapped all old code. ;-)

And to whomever is doing the FE: please take my post "sys_language_uid to L 
mapping" into account. The indexed search should really link to the correct 
langauge version of the page.
