[Typo3-dev] subscript in text and menus

Hello,

i have a problem to create subscript text in my typo3 content on my 
webpage. When i try to create subscrpted text i write directly in the 
textfield --> H<sub>2</sub>O
but when i look on my webpage i can see the clear HTML-code that i wrote.
Is there anybody how can tell me where and how i can cofigure Typo3 in 
that way that it shows me the subscripted text correctly?
