[Typo3-dev] RTE setup tutorial?

i think both Stig and Marlies have a point there..

1. it would be nice if the RTE works 'out of the box' but
2. being able to change how the RTE works is very imortant.

the RTE is indeed a very virtal tool for a cms like typo, but this doesn't
mean that it works by default and if it should work by default, that this is
the best solution for everybody.
Some like to use old-fashion font tags, others like the RTE to obay theyre
CSS.
other only like to save text-content plain in the db.

I think that this features for the RTE is also the most confusing part of
the RTE and some fault TS will end up in a meshed up output or "strange"
behaviours of the RTE.

and here has Stig a very good point, something i 'complained' about as well:
documentation.
Maybe we could start an RTE documentation group? gather all info about the
(and other) RTE"s and make 1 big documentation about it.
maybe we could use the wiki for this?

just an idea because my experience tell's me that it seems all questions
already been post about the RTE and most been answered. but the are spread
around in the mailinglist.that's one of the reasons why the RTE can be
