[Typo3-dev] Column where a content is

Hi!

	I'm developing an extension with a frontend plugin. Are there any way 
to know from the php code of the extension in which column is the plugin 
inserted?

	The extension is like tt_news in many ways, with the difference that I 
want to provide extra info in the right column, but I'm trying to 
haven't to give an extra parameter to the plugin to let it know that 
this content is for the right column. I'm triying to it can advice it by 
itself. Is it possible?

	I thought that it can be throught TSFE global var, but I can't found 
any documentation about it, neither mailing list archive or API doc.
