[Typo3-dev] multi-language extension

Hello Dev list, this is my first post,
first of all I introduce myself: I'm David, i have published 2 
extensions, I'm the chief designer of InteRa srl, an italian full 
service web agency with 9 typo3's projects online.

Does have someone experiences with programming multilanguage extensions? 
For example the extension Travel Guide provides a description for  
tourism structures, is it possible to add a selector for languages, so 
the BE users can add descriptions in different languages?
