[Typo3-dev] user management and umlauts

Hi list,

I can create a user with umlauts, for example username: "täst" password:
"test". But I cant login. In the log-file I see this

      10:52  [2]  .  Secur!  ATTEMPT  Login-attempt from 80.132.130.36 (),
username 'täst', password not accepted! (1)


(I m pretty sure it was the right password)

Maybe there is a bug in User Management? And what is the strategy with
umlauts in User Management, or Typo3 in generally? I couldnt found much in
the archive and the doc files about it.
