[Typo3-dev] More comfort for developers?

Hi all,

Netfielders created a new typoscript editor that can replace the
old-fashioned html area in the template setup. They will release this editor
as an extension for simple integration into Typo3.
In a discussion with Udo Butschinek from Netfielders we agreed that the
frontend user is getting more attention than the developers. More comfort
for the developers would make sense that means that better editors in the
backend would certainly speed up the development of typo3 sites and decrease
the trial and error search and correction.

The new typoscript editor from Netfielders is a very good start to increase
the comfort, but it requires more functions which needs more manpower und
maybe also some donations for the development and/or support.

Some new functions could be:

- a code insight function like in the Borland products (Delphi and
C++-Builder)
- a possibility to format and maybe indent code
- a search function in the editor
- a sort function
- the possibility to change the view to fullscreen
- some functions from HTMLArea that makes sense in a Typoscript Editor

Furthermore a new constants editor would be more than appreciated, with
constants sorted by Typo3 area like sitemap, menu etc. etc.
The developer could select in a context menu the menu item "Constants" and
will then get a list of constants sorted by area. Then he/she could choose
the required constant.

What is your opinion?

Kind regards.

Joachim
