[Typo3-dev] FAQ -> Why is every picture in /fileadmin duplicated in /uploads?

Hi list,

I have a question regarding answered FAQ question "Why is every picture 
in /fileadmin duplicated in /uploads?" 
(http://typo3.org/documentation/mailing-lists/user-list-archive/thread/288/?tx_maillisttofaq_pi1%5Bmode%5D=4&tx_maillisttofaq_pi1%5Bpointer%5D=2).

What happens if original picture from /fileadmin has been updated 
(deleted, then uploaded newer verision with the same name)? Is there any 
elegant way to warn all extensions that have outdated copy of this 
picture uploaded in theirs directories in /uploads?
