i agree that typo3.org could be much better, and that some "competitors" (other opensource cms) are gaining popularity because of their nice websites
anyway i think that typo3.org is working quite well, for an "expert" typo3ist who knows what to look for..
it is interesting , anyway, how we do "solve" problems: the documents section needed to be rebuilt? here comes a better (and faster to update) solution: the wiki! http://wiki.typo3.org/
need for a bug tracking solution? http://bugs.typo3.org/ !! (i posted several bugs for typo3.org.. and now they are being solved!!)
i know kasper and the core developers are heavily working on 3.7/templavoila/versioning , but i'm sure that soon they'll put some of their genius into typo3.org :)
