Anyway, thanks for pointing this out!
It's always sort of hard to imagine the newbie's point of view.

Yes, perhaps...
Anyway, I think if you get used to those terms, they are quite 
'speaking' and are consistently used in all Typo3 documentation (!) so 
it might be hard to change them.
However, to me it seems like a good idea to explain the terms somewhere.

Have a glance at the project "Glossary" that has already been started, 
perhaps you'll want to join the team!
