Dear TYPO3 users,

thanks to the bug reports on http://bugs.typo3.org/ and some work of the core developers the bugfix version 3.6.1 has just been released.

Since it neither ships any new features nor changes the API in any way, you can rely on it being 100% compatible to 3.6.0 except for the browser detection which was buggy in 3.6.0.

 - Fixed SSL detection
 - Fixed browser detection
 - Some issues with PATH_TRANSLATED tracked down and fixed
 - TYPO3 should now work on FastCGI out of the box

In order to reflect the new development process involving maintenance releases, TYPO3 has adopted the major.minor.patch [1] numbering scheme.

That means that bugfixes to a release like "3.6." will be distributed as "3.6.1", "3.6.2" etc. while the next "real" release will be numbered "3.7" or higher.

best regards,
Ingmar
