Which is too late for the gondola as far as I know...

To answer Karsten:
Getting to Laax by Car works OK, at least better than Les Deux Alpes or 
Fiesch as far as I remember. We'll be heading to Laax with 8 people and 
sharing cars, which seems the best oportunity. I would suggest taking 
the car with a small group, so you could get there early morning and 
make great use of that day :-)
