Peter,

As long as the stuff is not boxed and looking brand new you can an will
declare it as your personal belongings for work (going to a comupter-camp)
= this will work out fine for allmost all gear you bring during import and
export (you know we're there for sporting rather than working, I guess :-)

There's also a (certain = Adrian knows for shure) limit on ammount of cash
you may bring in; AFAIR it was something like <= 10.000 EUR ...

Take care though, that it's not only abouI Import; Swiss / Italian &
Austrian Custom-Duties are quite funny during your leave from Swizerland;
last year we've visited a Swiss Watch-Fair together with our client TIMEX,
bringing a few Watching into the Schweizerland and home again; at the
border, on our leave, Austrian Customs claimed to see the bills for "those
watches" as the assumed we just bought then during the fair. ( especially
my original Russian "RAKETA" ;-(

Anyway, for whatever you buy it Swizerland, keep the receipt until you're
home again; and in case of questions declare it as your personal, long-time
beloging, used and worthless good (except you bring your girlfriend with
you - which might case other troubles) & don't officially declare anything
upfront; you have more hazzel then stating innoccence and explaining only
in case of questions from customs.

hth, regards georg
