Ahoi Borders, Skiers, Organizers, Photographers ... t3board-orga-team, (
aka TYPO3-affin people )
Ahoi Kasper;

I'd like to waste 3 minutes of your attention in order to thank you all for
a great week in Fiesch and add some notes from a personal point of view.

-- Sporty Challenge
-------------------------
Throughout the last 3 or 5 years I've not done that much "sporty-actions"
as during last week. (right stupid me ;-)
There's no good reason for it, except the excellent weather-situation and
the lack of organized nerding & "discussions till the end" in Fiesch, which
might have helped. (Thanks for that);:

Anyway, especially the "4-kind-of-sports-within-12-hours"-Marathon between
1st and 2nd Feb. was pretty challenging/exhausting for me (23:00h
2xSoccer-Challenge, 01:00h Powerbar-Challenge, 09:30h Skiing/Boarding,
10:30h Ice-Hockey-Tournament).
Thanks to Peter(? soccer), Claudio (icehockey) for organizing those events,
and Daniel for the upfront Hockey-Motivation (hope you don't mind me
defending your attacks towards our goal too much ;-)

-- MountainBaseCamp & Interaction
-------------------------
Having been an "outsider" this year, simply for the reason that I was too
stupid/lazy/late to book my "original"-t3board-bed within the given 12 /
24h, I even more enjoyed the MountainBaseCamp:
WOHHHHH!!!

Now, having attended 4 (out of 5) T3board events, me feels the very best
thing this year was that BaseCamp on the mountain, see
	http://www.cgc.at/uploads/pics/DSC08217.jpg
Simply because, it not only offered TYPO3-(and other)-Flags, organized
all-you-can-eat food, though especially, because this place acted as a
central "coming-home & meet-friends-ON-the-slopes-place". In contrast to
the almost random meetings on various locations (lifts, multiple
restauraunts, on the mountains) throughout the last years, this place was
definitely outstanding.

Returning from a good "Abfahrt" (that is "Ride" for you boarders ;-),
having some rest, food, coffee, a smoke or a chat @ the BaseCamp and then
again starting off for another "ride" on the slopes with some old/new/other
TYPO3-Chaps simply was the best to me, this year:
Huge THANKs for setting up this MountainBaseCamp to Adrian, Michael,
Michael, Mattes, and all others of the organization-committee, who have
setup and mantained this place!

( Hey Gerhard, you nasty t3board-family-photographer: please stop taking
pics, of eating people :-)

-- OFF-Slopes Agenda / Critics
-------------------------
Unfortunately, from my point of view, there's pretty little to report upon
the the off-slopes-/off-sporty- agenda, in a broader TYPO3-Event-Context.

As an outsider, I did'nt regret to have payed 50 SRF. Upfront nobody was
able to tell me what for I'd pay 50 SRF, except Michales friendly face an
helpful instructions, and the badge I got, however the organization of the
BaseCamp (see above), the Internet-Connectivity [Thanks LUC!], and the rest
was definitely worth it!
Next time, please better communicate those 50-SRF-values - Thanks!

I did enjoy interesting bilateral/multilateral chats & discussions
(hopefully as all of you, who attended), with old and new TYPO3-friends,
and we had quite some fun, however I missed the broader scope.

In other words:
I definitely missed the offer to listen / contribute to:
	- interesting T3-case-studies (issues, challenges, solutions, )
	- latest/internal news/developements/discussions from/with Kasper / the
QA-, the dev-/core-/sec, the Comm-, Event- or the Assoc-Team or people
being interested/ambitious in those areas,
in a not PR- / Client- outside/publicity-orientated fashion - which
was/would be covered by the TYCON.

Pitty, it seems to me, that we missed this chance of real-time interactive
communication to and with a broader audience, than the usual
newsreader/mailinglist/website/bugtracker/podcast/bi-literal-phone/-way,
and instead get stuck to those digital bits (which we apparently prefer too
much ;-).

To me it's great that Kasper tries to "bring life" into the currently
pretty organized structure of TYPO3 by podcast-interviewing almost all the
attendents of the tour, and spending hours on compiling podcasts out of the
gathered material.
However I'd like to have attended and contrubited to at least one well
moderated summit-conference, (aka "Podiums-.Diskussion") during the
evenings, where anybody attending the tour would have been able to raise
his hand, ask questions and contribute in any way possible.

I feel, this year's offically announcement and strictly communicated
t3board-concept "sports- & socializing-only - no
content/discussion/sessions" almost explicitely excluded such an evening /
event;, and choked any grass-root intentions to setup such.

So here's my whish for next year's t3board:
Please account for the necessary "space" in next year's t3board concept,
so that the above mentioned might "happen" - Thanks.

I might have wasted more than 3 min of your time, however I do hope I
did'nt bore you too much.
Anyway, please follow Kasper's request on mailing him your thoughts about
t3board06;

Enjoy the rest of the week,
Thanks, regards
Georg

PS: On a personal note: Jose thanks for snoring as little as I did ;-)
PPS: Kasper, Thanks for having kicked off, what seems to have become the
most harmless, though incredible powerful avalanche by now! (And thanks for
that Cohiba, which I'll reserve for your next stay in VIE)
