Depending on your weight it might be totally OK to ride a 159cm! 149 is
the SHORTEST board in their lineup (which goes up to 168) and probably
only good for very small and light people.
According to the webpage of the manufacturer
(http://www.ridesnowboards.com) the 159 is good for people weighing at
least 120lbs, which is 54.4kg.
Check out this website to see which size is best for you.
The 159 will be more stable at speed and float better in deep snow than
a shorter board. I would say that 159 is some kind of "allround"-size
that most people will be happy with.
