Hi folks,
I had an idea and I would like to have your opinion about it.
As you all know, the catastrophe in south-east-asia has set off another
flood of aid activities by NGOs and others.
I think one of the things that must be missing is information about the
actions taken and planned as a basis for coordination.
Well, my idea is, that for the snowboard tour we could use a part of the
time to make a frontend plugin that is really just an interface for FEUsers
to create and schedule actions. Generally that means we would have different
geographical areas, different categories of help and timeslots.
I stop here, because I am quite sure you all have ideas of what this
should/could be.
We have Andreas Veith of the red cross in Kitz and many others will have
connections to such institutions, may be we could advertise this idea on the
mailing list to find more NGO people who can:
A.) give input on requirements
B.) help to spread the word about it, when it's done
Then of course we will also need to provide this as a service in some
hosting service set up and so on, but also as a download. And of course it
needs to be done by the end of the snowboard tour.
I expect you to have doubts about whether this is needed at all, or if it
will be used, but I believe it is worth a try and we are a group of people
that can make it happen quickly.
Thanks for taking a minute to think about it.
Cheers,
Daniel
