Hi guys,
I just want to set up a small agenda how snowboard training could take
place:
Since I am not sure if everyone will be there at the morning of the 3rd
my suggestion to start up training on 4th at 09:00.
If everyone coming for beginner training is there on the 3rd already
(please confirm here) we can also start on the 3rd.
Step 1:
Equipment
---------------------
Those who don't have equipment will get theirs.
I can help a bit on what to look for.
Step 2:
Theory
---------------------
Maybe an hour at most.
This covers what to do any more important what NOT to do.
Falling techniques will be covered too so we can minimize the amount of
broken bones during the tour :)
Step 3:
Hit the slope
---------------------
Although the slope will look like one with almost no steep faces we will
all use the blue one at the hahnenkammbahn first.
Maybe run up the hill twice or three times and learn the basics of
getting up, steering, falling.
Step 4:
T-Bar Lifts
---------------------
*hehe*
This will be the most physically challenging task for the trainers
because we will walk everyone up at least (don't you dare!) once.
Step 5:
Use what you learned
---------------------
I plan to release all beginners into their own learning at the end of
the 2nd day.
From that time on you will be able to steer the board and there is
basically not much left to explain. You will have to figure out a lot by
yourself.
There are not shortcuts to snowboarding - there are longcuts though.
I will steer you around those longcuts so you will bbe up and running
within two days.
But still there is no alternative to practise, practise, practise.
So even when you sit in the snow with your muscles burning and your nose
freezing off (like most of us did) don't give up.
At the end you will all enjoy the fun of riding on the slopes.
I'd like everyone with expirience with a sport that uses ONE board
(skateboarding, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, mountainboarding
etc.) to tell me before we move to Step 3. This way we trainers can
distribute the manpower a bit better by building seperate groups.
looking forward to seeing you soon
mathias
