[Neos] Server error when trying to install on Shared Host

On the download page [1] there are instruction to install it using 
composer, but there is also a nice, big, blue button "Download TYPO3 
Neos 1.0.2 as archive". There you can find Neos in a .zip, .tar.gz or 
.tar.bz2 format.

Then continue at the step "Set up a virtual host inside your 
apache.conf, and then restart apache:"
(setting up a virtual host is something that needs to be done for each 
new site)
and you're ready to go.
