[Neos] VirtualHost with Windows, XAMPP not working

I don't do much with Apache these days - but...

Seems like you have problems unrelated to the vhost you just created - 
it says about vhost www.example.com:443. Probably you have some 
leftovers somewhere there. Tidy it up, also switch off SSL module 
(which complains about things) and try again with your vhost.

BTW are you sure your vhost file is included? Check httpd.conf - at the 
end you should see what is read by Apache from which sub-directories.
