[Neos] forum vs list

I had thought that the neos forum at http://forum.typo3.org was the same as the mailing list news://lists.typo3.org:119/typo3.projects.typo3-5_0.general

But it looks like if you post to the forum it gets on the list but if you post to the list it doesn't get to the forum. Is that the way its supposed to be, or have I missed something again ;)

ps is it because the forum is  in beta?
