Hello everybody
Just a little follow up from our discussion today.
We discussed the whole approach to node type structure and had a long and interesting discussion on the topic, which resulted in a proposal that is close to what we have currently.
http://forge.typo3.org/issues/51927
One of the approaches we decided against was having a structure that could be changed for the node type, decoupling it from the node type. This was suggested to have something
similar to backend layouts in CMS, which can then be used for different page layouts. This can instead be achieved by extending the page node type that doesn't change the structure,
but instead only the rendering, meaning that all possible sub paths should be defined for the page node type.
Another topic of our discussion was regarding the placement of the node types that Neos provides, because there has been some confusion if a certain type came from TYPO3.Neos or
TYPO3.Neos.NodeTypes. We came to a conclusion to make all node types in TYPO3.Neos abstract and move some additional ones to TYPO3.Neos.NodeTypes. IIRC we also discussed
introducing a final flag but I'm not sure if we agreed on this though. Sebastian will take care of creating a ticket for this task.
