[TYPO3-50-general] Upgrade to 5.3...

Hi.

We are now at a point where we need to serialize/unserialize DateTime 
objects. This is, as you may know, not possible.

Well, it was not possible, but starting with 5.3 it is. So, on your next 
"infrastructure day", plan some time for upgrading to (or installing) 
PHP 5.3. The first alpha has just been released.

PS: Of course there are also other cool things to explore, like 
namespaces, 30% more speed, ... they say. :)
