Hi all,
I'm sure you all know our docs.typo3.org documentation platform. We have
a long-standing plan to improve the handling of documentation rendering
requests (amongst other features) by running a Flow application on that
server. Work was started by Fabien Udriot a couple of years ago, then
furthered by Karsten Dambekalns.
The work so far is incomplete and the Flow application is still not
usable. For 2014 I got a budget from the T3A to cover finishing this
work. Unfortunately the people who were active so far have no time
anymore, no matter that there's a budget.
So we're looking for a qualified Flow developer who would like to pick
up this work. There's a budget of about 100h, at standard association
rate of 55€/h.
To roughly outline the tasks:
- finish implementing support for RabbitMQ messaging. The first goal is
to pick up messages sent by the TYPO3 TER when a TYPO3 CMS extension is
uploaded. Hopefully other interesting RabbitMQ messages can be caught in
the future.
- send feedback to some other RabbitMQ queue after rendering
- build an administration interface for the Documentation Team
(authentication needed, but not necessarily SSO with typo3.org)
- provide several JSON views so that other applications from the TYPO3
community can pick up information about documentation (essentially what
is available, with various search criteria).
More details can be found in the budget application [1], although the
goals shifted a bit to adapt to changing infrastructure in the TYPO3
community (introduction of RabbitMQ by the Server Team, for example).
We plan to deliver a fully working development environment in the form
of a Vagrant box, but the project [2] is not yet finalized. This should
hopefully happen soon.
Please answer here if you're interested.
Cheers
