I think the CLA process is is to complicated, but not because of the CLA
itself, but because of the steps that need to be taken to mark someone
having signed the CLA.
E.g. for drupal, you just have to hit a checkmark and press submit in your
user profile. Then you are marked as signed and can start contributing code.
It should be fairly easy to add such a field inside the t3o profile (I could
do that on the next sprint), however syncing this to gerrit needs someone
having knowledge of how this is currently done.
So instead of dropping the CLA requirement, I suggest to change our workflow
regarding the CLA and let the user sign the CLA like terms of use. No need
to facsimile signed copies around.
