[FLOW3-general] php notice handled as exception?

hi list,

i get the following error when i run my command controller on my 
production machine. Since this seems to be a notice, why is it handled 
as an exception?

Uncaught Exception
   Notice: curl_setopt_array(): CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST with value 1 is
   deprecated and will be removed as of libcurl 7.28.1. It is recommended to
   use value 2 instead in
