[FLOW3-general] "var_dumping" a Model

Thanks for your answer, Andreas. 
Is this the only way?Do I need Fluid?
By Googleing around, I read somewhere that there's also this "utility":
\TYPO3\FLOW3\var_dump($object);

Is this another possibility?
