Sometimes there is no way around a complex model, but I made the
experience that a lot of developers are having hard times shifting their
minds from the relational way of structuring models to the "DDD style"
which leads to models and queries that are overly complex and hard to
comprehend.
With complexity I didn't primarily mean the number of classes but rather
the code smells in those that sometimes arise from a model that does not
perfectly fit the domain.
Having said that, using DQL directly does not imply a bad model of
course! But using them extensively *can* be an indicator that the
structure of the model might be improved.
