No, don't despair. Everything is hard to begin with.

I think, "InvalidControllerException" is thrown when the configured
controller is not present. This should really work without any further
inconvenience. Are you using the current version of the .git repo or
the packed up bz2? I can remember having a similar error with the git
version which was not occuring with the packed up bz2. That was about
the time of T3Board11 when, i think, the guys were spurting with new
features.

Long story short, try the latest packed up version or check out the
git version tagged as "1.0.0-alpha14". If you've already done that, i
currently do not know what to do without further code inspection.
