Hi folks,

I've been a bit silent recently regarding what's planned for the next releases of FLOW3. For one it was this Christmas thingy which took some time and other reasons for not writing a little blog article about the roadmap were 1) I still don't have a blog and 2) I was pretty much consumed by some development work for FLOW3.

Well, we do have a master plan though. Yeah, we do! ;-)

FLOW3 1.0.0 alpha 7 will be released on January 18th. It will contain a few breaking changes but we do our best to give you a smooth transition by providing documentation and some migration script. Besides these breaking changes it will also contain some very neat features, mainly addressing resource management and persistence.

FLOW3 1.0.0 alpha 8 is scheduled for March 1st and will focus on Content Security and speed.

After alpha8 has been released, we'll decide if we need an alpha9 or go to the next level and prepare a first beta release.

Besides our work on FLOW3 and TYPO3 5.0 itself, Karsten and I are currently working on some extensive manual and a real world project based on FLOW3.

I'm really glad that so many of you are currently experimenting with FLOW3! Keep on filing bug reports and ideas for improvement, that really helps us a lot!

Well, back to work now, have a great week!
Robert
