Hi!
I just stumbled over an project from 2003 from Derick Rethans.
http://talks.php.net/show/srm-montreal shows pretty much what it has done.
Unfortunately the project is dead. But the slides and the project reminds me
of an idea i had. Actually nothing new at all, but new to PHP IMHO. It would
be great if we could start "any" class as a background service or daemon
which provides logic like a Controller in the MVC Paradigm. Since PHP has
socket support, a pure PHP Implementation would be possible. The benefit
would be performance, because in case of FLOW3 the Framework does not have
to start every time - no overhead. And it could be implemented as optional
part to FLOW3 -> If socket exists then ...
One use case for this would be the Typo3CR, Reflection, Cache, etc... IMHO.
An other use case could be the CLI.
What do you think about that idea?
Kind regards
