[TYPO3-UG US] templating preferences in typo3

Is there a definitive document that explains the pro's and con's of the different templating systems 
available in typo3?
And if not, would anyone be willing to share their experiences as to why they chose one system over 
another? If you have moved from one template style to another due to greater experience; which one 
and why?


For example:
1)full TS template
    Pro
       Complete control over every aspect of typo3 template
       original template system for typo3
       completely extensible

    con
       difficult to learn (by some accounts)
       not for 'design' oriented user
       requires 3 documents (or more) to get the full picture
           TS by example
           TS ref
           TS config
           TS templates

    Pro
       newer way to create template
