I never studied psychology but I really think that something simple as a 
fake TYPO3 box on the main page could help give the right "first 
impression".

See? The Joomla box is even better because it's bigger (bigger=more 
features!) even for a fake box !

TYPO3 has it's own thin box http://typo3.org/download/ but I hope to see 
a thicker version that gives the impression of a great system. Add a 
nice looking CD and faux-manual and you're set !

This gives the system some sort of tangible reality.
