[Typo3-UG Denmark] Allowing non-registered users to register/sign up.

Is it possiple to make a page where a <unknown> user can
sign up w. email, password or such and get created in the system as
a pending-user / normal-user with no special access before admin or other grant them access.

Like customers who purchased a product and awaits access to update downloads or 
download of product itself, member pages etc..

Would apreciate any hints or examples if anyone know of any..
